Sconce

The original meaning of the word “sconce” is an elevated and protected place. The early Colonial sconce was made of tin or wood and hold a single candle. It was an improvement over the candlestick in that it raised the candle to a safer place and most sconces had reflectors, which provided additional light. Each of the sconces we made is available in both electrified and candle versions.
